However, it’s essential that both parents and young riders understand the legal requirements and safety responsibilities that come with using them. ✅ Age LimitsE-Bikes (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycles – EAPCs): Riders must be at least 14 years old.Anyone under 14 must not use an e-bike on public roads or in public spaces.Motor power must not exceed 250 watts.Electric Motorcycles: Treated the same as petrol motorcycles.Riders must be at least 17 years old and hold the appropriate licence (provisional or full).✅ Motor Power & Speed RulesE-Bikes: Motor must not exceed 250W.Power assistance must cut off at 15.5mph (25km/h).Anything above these limits is classed as a motor vehicle and requires insurance, registration, and licensing.Electric Motorcycles: Must meet all legal requirements for motor vehicles:- Insurance
